Gavin at 5 1/2

You are one of the friendliest kids! You know no strangers and you make friends everywhere you go. In a short time, you can have a girlfriend and a best friend. You walk up to kids you don't know and just say "hi" to them. You are just so sweet. You are also a very good big brother! You help Garrett get out of the van and help him follow the rules, you love to hold Braden and talk to him. It's so sweet. Right now you are playing soccer and you love it! Your team lost the first 2 games, but finally won today! You don't want it to end, though, so you're sad that today was the last game. You also told us you have a girlfriend on the soccer team, but you can't remember her name, ha ha!

The past week you were at Vacation Bible School at 2nd Pres. and you loved it! You were a Blue Dolphin, but you were accidentally placed with the preschool group. I tried switching you to a White Spider so you could be with the older kids, but you were so sad because you wanted to be a Blue Dolphin, so you just stayed with that group. Lately, you've done a lot of talking back! I hope that you didn't learn it at VBS!!!

Sometimes you're excited about starting school and riding the bus, but other times you don't want to be gone all day. The other night you were crying because you didn't ever want to leave us and you didn't want to grow up :( I told you that someday you'd want to leave with your friends and have fun w/out us and that just made you cry more. One day we told you that you would get chest hair and you really cried about that! You just don't want to get big right now. I'm sure someday you'll change your mind :)

Gavin, you are so sweet. You truly love other people and every teacher you've ever had says you are so empathetic. You don't like it when other kids get hurt or cry and you try to find out what happened and solve the problem. Right now you have also been scared at night, so we have to lay with you when you fall asleep and then you sneak into our room at night and sleep on the floor. I hope you get out of that stage soon, because you aren't getting enough sleep! You absolutely hate going to bed!!! Anyway, we love you more than anything. To see you doing the things you enjoy is just amazing. You love garage sales and even get good deals :) It runs in the family! We love you so much!!!
