LIFE by Mom

Dear family,
A friend of mine and my sister Mary's died this week. Libby Hammond.....she lived in Lexington and the funeral was at the Methodist church in Lexington. Libby was 49 years old and died of breast cancer, she fought long and hard, the cancer won. A close friend of Libby's said " old people might fade away and fall into heaven, Libby had a beer in one hand, a slice of pizza in the other and slid in sideways. She is a winner anyway, she is with the lord and can watch over all of us, now. The funeral was another reminder of how important family and friends are to me. (if you are a friend you are family) ( if you are family you are a friend). As I gave a hug to one of Libby's sisters she said you know.....you have sisters too...

Tom and I are almost on our way to Florida to visit Barb and Pat Hermes....Monday at 11:00 am we will be on our way to an adventure with friends/family in warmer weather than it is here...whoop eee

Barb is doing well and will have 2 more treatments. The doctors think she will go into remission, but the type of cancer she has it may only last for 2 years at the most. So...Barb and Pat are going to Texas...to MD Anderson to meet with doctors and discuss adult stem cell transplant. They leave for Texas March 8th. The procedure is done much like a bone marrow transplant. They have to kill your immunity and then proceed with the transplant. Sometimes the treatment can be what kills you...I pray that if they decide to do the transplant that Barb will survive...
Barb wants to live more than 2 more years so, if MD Anderson agree, I am sure she will have it done, Like all of us...... our lives are the hands of the LORD...............so live each day as if it is your last.
time to sign off..............

I have to clean a few toilets before we leave on vacation, you never know what might happen on the way. Be Prepared for unknown visitors,,,,,, must have clean toilets......

love and hugs Ms thursday (patty)
