Monday night, Gavin's preschool celebrated a dad's night. The evening started off with free play. Gavin showed me all of his favorite toys to play with. We started off with a cookie monster game. We had to place a cookie in Cookie Monsters hand, pull the hand down and let go. His hand slung back up and throws the cooking into the monsters mouth. The next toy Gavin pulled me to was the mega legos. We played with the legos for about 30 seconds, then Gavin noticed the music box. He ran over and pulled a couple instruments out for us to serenade everyone else in the room. After the music box, Gavin finished up at the workbench. We both wore hard hats. Gavin hammered a nail down and I stapled the workbench. Free play time is over and next up was circle time.
Once all of the toys were cleaned up, everyone sat around in a horseshoe. Mrs. Schults explained what a typical day at pre-school is like and the events they go through each day they're present. The kids sang a couple of sound to all of the dads. and then each dad read a short story about themselves narrated by their child.
Gavin story about me goes like this:
My dad is 3 years old.
He is weighs 1 pound.
His hair color is gray.
When my dad relaxes"he lays down with a pillow".
My dad favorite TV show to watch is "the cubs".
One thing my dad always says to me is "no".
My favorite thing to do with my dad is to eat ice cream.
After all of the stories were read, we washed our hands and made ice cream sundaes. Gavin took me to our place mat to eat our ice cream. My place mat has an imprint of Gavin's feet and the foot prints poem. When snack time was over the children were released to the muscle room, where the kids can run around and be kids.
This concludes dad's day at Platmates preschool
