Valentine's Day 2014
February 14, 2014
It's hard to believe, but we got MORE snow! An expected dusting turned into a very unexpected 4+ inches. At this point everyone is so ready for clear roads, warm weather and simply being able to get out of the house! However, we managed to have a fabulous Valentine's Day! Brian was nice enough to stay home with the kids so I could take Braden to his Valentine's breakfast at school. He enjoyed some french toast sticks, fruit and sausage :) Of course he didn't want me to leave, but he managed to have a great day at school anyway. Next I had a lot of work to do preparing snacks for Garrett's Valentine's Day class party! I made chocolate covered Oreos with heart sprinkles and Rice Krispie Treats with red & pink sprinkles. While I'm no Brian Crocker they turned out pretty good. When Braden got home we headed to Garrett's party. First things first, Braden had to find some puzzles in the classroom to keep himself entertained ;) The kids all enjoyed the snacks we brought and Garrett was excited to see us. We even stopped in Gavin's class to say hi before we went back home and he was really excited to see us!
Once home there was a ton of snow to take care of, so being the nice wife that I am I got a head start on the shoveling. Once Brian came home we finished up together and actually had some fun doing it :) After that was all done we told the boys we were taking them to see The Lego Movie! We made it through all the traffic and slushy roads, but it took forever! The boys really enjoyed the movie! Braden got a little restless, yelling "can we get out of here?" a couple times, but all in all he was great. We came home and relaxed for a bit then got the kids in bed.

Let the Valentine's celebration continue! Brian made the boys pancakes and sausage for breakfast. Actually, Garrett had the pancake mix already sitting out when we came downstairs ;) We had a nice breakfast together and then they impatiently waited to go to Pops and Grandma Terri's house so that mom & dad could get a night out. Pops picked up the boys and took them to Monicals for pizza. While there another family told Pops that the boys were so well behaved they didn't even know there were kids sitting at the table, let alone 3 boys! It does our hearts very good to know that even though the boys can be wild and crazy at home they are very able to be good boys while out in public :) As for our night out, we made some exciting trips to Bed, Bath & Beyond, Shoe Carnival and Brian even hit up Petco for a poop school ha ha! Then we followed up with a yummy dinner at D'Agostinos. Oh, and it SNOWED! Yes, more snow. Sigh...
We finally went to pick up the boys and of course, Braden throws a fit because he doesn't want to leave Pops house ;) They were playing BINGO! But he was finally bribed since we had Valentine's for them at home. They got really cute candy guys from Pops & Grandma, along with pizza gift cards! They are so lucky to have awesome grandparents! At home we gave them new backpacks & Monsters Inc flashlights. Another great day!
