August 13-16, 2009. We went to Lake Ozark with Pops & Grandma Hoepner and had a great time! We also brought Riley & Rubin. We left Thursday morning and arrived around 3 pm. We unpacked and then Brian took Garrett to the store while Gavin and I stayed down at the dock. Gavin swam the entire time they were gone, and so did Riley!!! Pops & Grandma arrived around 8 pm, just in time for a nice evening boat ride! The next day, we all went out on the boat, took a nice ride, and then stopped in a cove to swim for awhile. There were tons of blue gill swimming around us, so we fed them. They were close enough to touch them and they weren't afraid of us at all!!! Rubin got in for about 2 seconds, but Riley pretty much swam the entire time! We had lunch on the boats and enjoyed the beautiful weather! Then we came home and grilled pork chops (no applesauce, though, lol).
On Saturday, we headed out to Frankie & Louie's and the boys had a blast playing in the sand and swimming. The dogs were sad to be left behind :( Garrett was getting more & more brave in the water and finally learned to keep himself upright in his life jacket! Then we headed home so Garrett could take a nap. While he was napping, Gavin & Brian swam down by the dock and we hung out and watched the Cubs game. That afternoon we headed to Grant & Nancy's house to hang out with them! Again, the boys had a great time swimming and Garrett was all over the place! He is unstoppable now!!! Wrigley, Grant's daughter, had a little crush on Gavin and they were jumping in together and holding hands :) So cute! We had a few drinks and hung out for awhile, but there was a storm blowing in! As soon as it started sprinkling, we had to rush into the boat and speed back home. Made it just in time before it started pouring!!!
On Sunday, we went for another boat ride to get gas and then came back. Pops & Grandma left around noon. After they left, we went back out on the boat and swam while a storm was approaching. While we were swimming, Gavin kept asking me if I wanted to bite his toenail off (thanks Pops!) and it felt like he scraped me a couple times with it, but I finally realized that he was too far away to do that and it was a fish or something!!! Yikes! So I swam back to the boat as fast as I could and we all got out. Thankfully we left when we did, because we just missed another storm! We packed up, cleaned and headed home in the rain.
It was such a nice, relaxing weekend! Enjoy some more pics...
